Rebecca Ridley is a contemporary ceramics maker, creating homeware and jewellery. Inspiration is found in a variety of places, most prominently in the materials themselves and in a playful exploration of the materials and processes.

Clay creates the perfect base for Rebeccas work allowing vibrant bursts of colour and delightful textures to be accentuated by simple forms of the homeware and jewellery she creates. It also offers the opportunity for continuous learning and exploration into the processes and techniques used in the craft.

Rebecca enjoys the freedom of creating jewellery in a fluid way – designing as she makes – which results in idiosyncratic and charming objects. Realising the importance of handmade objects in the current climate of mass-produced products, Rebecca is mindful to allow all the components she creates to be distinctive and for each of them to take on their own characteristics.

Rebecca graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA Hons in Decorative Arts and currently works from a studio space within The brickworks, in the centre of Newcastle.
